Students and recent graduates should target one page. Focus on education, internships, relevant projects, and skills. Mid-career professionals (5-15 years) can use one to two pages, with the choice depending on the relevance and volume of their experience.

Senior professionals and executives may use two pages, occasionally three for C-suite roles with extensive board experience, publications, or speaking engagements. However, even at this level, brevity is a virtue. A CEO's CV should not read like an autobiography.

How to Cut Content
